Somebody once said something along the lines of “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” — a saying the Trashcam Project revitalizes. The experiment unfolded when a group of garbage men from Hamburg, Germany drilled tiny holes into dumpsters around the city and hanged large sheets of photo paper inside the dumpsters.
A single exposure may take up to an hour of waiting and if city workers in Germany are anything like those in Toronto, they’re used to standing around, am I right cynical citizens? (I kid, I kid.)
Jokes aside, the results are pretty spectacular, especially considering the medium. Suddenly the Waste Management field is looking more appealing….
